Our Inpatient Hospice Houses in Danvers & Lincoln, MA

When circumstances make it hard for those under hospice care to be treated at home, Care Dimensions provides two in-patient hospice homes as an alternative to hospitalization.

Palliative Care

Relieving Pain, Symptoms and Stress

People who struggle with pain and symptoms related to a serious illness but who are not ready or don't qualify for hospice care often benefit from palliative care. At Care Dimensions, our palliative care specialists partner with the patient's doctors to offer additional support to improve their quality of life at whatever point they may be in the course of their illness, whether it is at the diagnosis stage or during treatment.

Our aim is to enhance the lives of those impacted by illness, empowering them with knowledge and helping them understand what to expect as the illness progresses. We give our patients and their caregivers the knowledge they need to maintain comfort and independence, improving everyday life.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between hospice and palliative care?
Both hospice and palliative care are aimed towards relieving suffering, yet their expected outcomes and the purposes of their treatments differ. While hospice treatments are focused on comfort rather than a cure, palliative care can be either comfort-based or focused on finding a cure. Hospice, however, is mainly funded by Medicare, which means that to receive it, one must meet the Medicare requirements; palliative care does not have any such prerequisites.
Do Medicare and insurance cover hospice or palliative care?
All licensed hospice programs must offer certain services, but the spectrum of services may differ. Some are non-profit and some are for-profit. Care Dimensions is a non-profit and the largest hospice provider in Massachusetts. They offer customized programs to suit the clinical and emotional needs of different patients as well as additional therapies such as Reiki, massage, music therapy, and pet therapy to boost the patient's quality of life.
Are all hospice programs the same?
All licensed hospice programs must provide certain services and may be either non-profit or for-profit. Care Dimensions, the largest and most comprehensive hospice provider in Massachusetts, is a non-profit and provides specialized programs to meet the varied needs of patients, in addition to an array of complementary therapies such as Reiki, massage, music therapy, and pet therapy, to improve their overall quality of life.

Care Dimensions provides a range of services, including Palliative Care, hospice care at two different locations, and grief counseling at multiple locations in the Danvers and Waltham areas.
Does electing hospice mean I’m giving up hope?
Facing an end-of-life situation can cause distress and sadness, but hospice care enables patients and their loved ones to focus on treasured moments and making the best of the time they have left. It helps them to realize that, while death can lead to sadness, anger, and pain, it can also bring peace and a chance to reconnect, find joy, and share love.
